James Madison University


The purpose of our program is to provide a strong academic foundation based on a general education with a strong emphasis in nutrition, dietetic practice, food systems, management, and natural sciences to prepare the student with knowledge requirements necessary for entry-level dietetics practice after a dietetic internship.

The goals of the DPD at James Madison University are:

  1. The program will prepare students to enter a Dietetic Internship and function effectively in entry-level positions as a Registered Dietitian.

  2. The program will promote development of professional values in students.

  3. The program will produce graduates capable of conducting research in dietetics.
