Health Studies Concentration Receives Provost’s Award for Excellence in Assessment

Since 2006, faculty members have been working to develop an assessment instrument for Health Studies students to complete during the spring semester of their senior year. The Center for Assessment and Research Studies (CARS) at JMU has been instrumental in assisting the Health Studies faculty through the process. The assessment evaluates the goals and objectives of the Health Studies concentration. Data from the assessment provides faculty with information on curriculum needs. Faculty members in the Health Studies concentration were notified in April of 2012 that they had received the James Madison University (JMU) Provost’s Award for Excellence in Assessment. The University selects one program each year to highlight through the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Assessment.
