Accreditation, Student Outcomes, and Certification

Accreditation


In February of 2013, the James Madison University Master of Occupational Therapy (M.O.T.) Program received a ten year accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).  We will be going up for accreditation again during the 2022-2023 academic year.

Certification


Graduates of the James Madison University Master of Occupational Therapy Program are eligible to   apply to take the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Board Exam ® (NBCOT), however, applicants and students should be aware that a felony conviction/charge may affect a graduate’s eligibility to sit for the NBCOT exam and/or apply for state licensure.  Please contact NBCOT for more information www.NBCOT.org

Graduation Data


To date, 201 students have successfully graduated from the James Madison University Master of Occupational Therapy Program. During the three year period of 2014-2016, sixty-six (66) students out of 69 graduated, with an overall graduation rate of 95.6%.
